Biking in Rimini

By vera, December 21, 2009 8:14 pm

When I went to Rimini one month ago, I was very surprised how many bikers I could see both in the old town and along the seaside. After I came back I did some research and found out that the city provides several cycling routes which allow nice bike-rides through Rimini and the Emilia-Romagna region. Actually, you can find about 30 km of bike paths within Rimini and the Marina di Rimini. In case you want to do sporty activities during your holiday, this is an optimal way to connect sight-seeing with sports.

The following link of the tourist office provides several tours- you can choose for example between a “panoramic tour” or the “cuckold´s tour”. Please click here.

Venice baby !

By tudor, December 14, 2009 11:46 pm

This summer I’ve been touring Italy for two weeks, and after visiting Rimini , my next stop was Venice, where I spent a day visiting around the city and taking pictures. I have to say that if you plan a one-day trip around the city of Rimini, Venice can be a wonderful choice, but it will also an exhausting experience. Venice is arguably the one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world, and for good reason. Its an enchanting city that can only be experienced live and in person. Its also one of those places that can be quite exhausting to see, so a one day excursion and back to the charm and relaxation in Rimini can be a great idea.

I advise you to take the train from Rimini Centrale - the trip will take between 3.5 h and 4h - depending upon the trains you take. Be careful to choose trains that do not require a change at Bologna, and if you can’t find any direct ones, make sure you allow yourself enough time to make the connection. Also, the price of the ticket can variate. I have paid 20 euros for a return ticket.

If you can wake up in the morning and leave Rimini at 7.00 am , you will be in Venice at 11.00 am and have enough time to travel around the city and get back by the evening.

Rimini Boat Trips

By tudor, November 25, 2009 4:42 pm

Especially on summer, but not only , you can spend your afternoons by choosing one of the boat trips programmes. Even if it is about visiting the platforms where methan gas is being extracted, or the areas where the mussel breeding happens, you can enjoy a new and interesting experience provided that you are not sea-sick!

Moreover, during summer, these boat trips are very popular. You can eat fish , cooked in traditional Romagnan style , and party on the boat - music and dance are part of the programme.  For the ones that like fishing, you should know that you can spend the day far from the beachfront, enjoying deep sea fishing.

What attracted me the most in these boat trips offer , is the possibility to rent a boat , for a private party with friends.(all year on request). Find out more about the companies that offer boat rental here :

How to get to San Marino

By tudor, November 25, 2009 11:32 am

If your are looking to make an excursion out to the independent state of San Marino, one of the worlds smallest nations, its only a quick trip away from Rimini. The easiest and most popular way to get to San Marino is taking the bus from Rimini. It is surely also an interesting alternative for people travelling by car as parking lots are hard to find in the old town of San Marino (the oldest republic in the world).  Moreover, even if you find a parking place, you will have to pay up to 10 euro if you decide to spend your day there.

In conclusion, it would be more appropriate and affordable to choose the  bus. A return ticket costs 8,00 EUR . The coach runs once an hour during the high season, but less frequently off-season.  There unfortunately is no train service to San Marino. You can find more information about the bus service here :

Cheap Flights Frankfurt-Rimini

By greg, November 19, 2009 1:00 am

Great news, Frankfurters!

Ryan Air currently has some very competitive rates going as low from 3 euros per trip for direct flights from Frankfurt Hahn Airport for the winter months of December, January, February - but also some of early March too.

One nice idea would be a short Christmas break in Rimini, which is round trip only 6 euros (excluding tariffs)!

Don’t worry if its not beach season, there is still plenty to see and do, as we here at BlogRimini will be keeping you up to speed with tips and advice for a great experience in Rimini in any season.  Christmas in Rimini would be quite nice, get away from the stress of family time, Christmas Markets, Decorated squares, great cuisine - and of course like anywhere in Italy, don’t forget the Christmas panettone bread. For 6 euros+ taxes? I’d say thats a bargain!

Here is the link to look at the calendar and prices; remember the fares are subject to change as time progresses, so booking earlier means better fares!

If you are in a hurry you can also take a taxi.

Some of the notable airlines with direct flights to Rimini are low-cost carriers such as Ryan Air, Air Berlin, and Sky Europe.

Transport Tips: Getting Around in Rimini

By theresa, October 29, 2009 11:01 pm

Getting around in the city by car can be quite difficult. Especially in the summer, when the streets are crowded, you are likely to get caught up in a traffic jam every ten meters. Public transport offers a good alternative to using one’s own car. Rimini can be easily reached by train and there is a good local bus service which connects the train station, the city centre and the beach area.
